For a cartoon character to be effectively designed, we will need the following information from you:
- Company background information what your target market
- Mascot information e.g. positioning, what kind (animal, human)
Time Frames
We can provide you with your character design within 5 working days, depending on the technical
requirements involved in the design.
- First concepts / Sample: 2 days
- Inking of the design: 2 days
- Final files delivery: 1 day (via email)
The Process
Step 1:
After we have all requirements from you, we get to work on the character design in terms of "look and feel".
We also conduct research to understand how to create the character e.g. human, animal, etc. The approach of
the character/mascot is very important to communicate your message effectively. We will present our research in
a document to you, the client, upon completion.
Once we have decided on the style and look we can then draw some sketches (approx. 3). If you are happy with the
direction of the initial sketch we can then go head to the next stage.
Step 2:
Once you have selected the initial concept, we proceed with the "inking" of the sketch. Adding colour,
highlights, shadows and bringing the character alive. We use Adobe Illustrator to create more of a crisp,
clean and accurate design. The choice of colours at our discretion, unless specifically requested.
Step 3:
Once the character design has been finalized and approved.
We provide you the following formats in high resolution:
- EPS (Encapsulated Post Script)
- AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- JPEG (Joint Photography Experts Group)
- GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)
The final design and concept will be placed 100% into your ownership, but the working files will remain
in the possession of LIT Creations.
Costs
R1,900 (ex VAT) per mascot design / single position (includes research document, 3 initial sketches and final product)
R1,200 (ex VAT) thereafter per variation of mascot position (includes 3 initial sketches and final product)
